The Director of Business Development (DBD) executes Sales and Marketing Plans and tools provided by CHG to meet and exceed operational plan as it relates to admissions. Develop, manage and execute on sales and marketing tools and processes to accomplish expectations and objectives. Continuously evaluates progress allowing for adjustments or changes as necessary. The Director of Business Development (DBD) coaches, manages, directs and participates in making contacts, working referrals and covering pods when liaisons are out of market or there is an opening using Sales and Marketing Tools provided by CHG. Will develop new territories to determine viability for new hire as identified and necessary to grow business. Motivates individuals and team through individual empowerment and mentoring. Holds each member of the sales team accountable for meeting monthly expectations and will personally help liaisons reach their goals for the success of the facility.


The Director of Business Development (DBD) duties include:


  •  Promotes and motivates sales/marketing and other key staff in referral and admission development.
  •  Tracks referrals and trends for growth opportunities.
  •  Will recruit talent to the team when needed and will know the market and competing liaisons. Recruits, hires and trains Sales and Marketing staff, and admissions staff when needed for open positions.
  •  Provides guidance, training and support to clinical liaisons and CEO/ED on marketing/business development activities.
  •  Ensures proper administration of policies and procedures utilized in providing a central intake and admissions process for the facility.
  •  Establishes admissions goals for the facility, monitors on a daily basis, and intervenes when necessary to overcome shortfalls.
  •  Serves as trouble-shooter for census-challenged facility and implements strategies for improvement.
  •  Develops measurable performance standards for business development marketing team.
  •  Communicates Cornerstone's mission, strategies, values, philosophy, expectations and culture.
  • Perform additonal duties as assigned






Minimum Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of operational and financial plans for departmental interpretation and application.
  • High level of analytical ability to establish goals and objectives to support success.
  • Interpersonal skills to objectively handle conflict management.
  • Ability to identify, define and apply metrics for a measurement of success.
  • Action oriented individual with ability to:  identify opportunity; adapt to change; works independently; and prioritize tasks / responsibilities.
  • Possesses a drive and desire to finish regardless of opposition.
  • Continuously strives to meet / exceed goals.
  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Intellectual ability to handle concepts and complexity comfortably.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, compliance requirements and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of technology such as word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.

Education and/or Experience:  

  • RN, LVN or RRT. 
    Previous management experience of 3-5 years in a changing environment. 
  • Three to five (3-5) years of direct sales, marketing or healthcare facility admissions experience preferred.
